MDCA Summer Camp Begins

Mount Dora Christian Academy began its first week of summer camp following Memorial Day. This nine week camp included fun weekly themes, daily snacks, field trips and before and after care. The first week of camp was career week. On Tuesday, the Mount Dora Police Department and Lake County EMS visited the campus. The campers got to try on police gear and take a tour of an ambulance. On Wednesday, DBK Construction and DBK Bert stopped by the MDCA campus to teach the campers about working in construction. DBK Construction donated all the materials and helped the campers build a garden that will be filled next week (6/6 – 6/10) in the Zoology and Horticulture week. Thursday the campers focused on the branches of the US Military. They designed airplane magnets, Army parachutes, wrote letters to soldiers, made dog tags, and experienced MDCA’s Summer Camp Boot Camp. On Friday, the campers took a walk to the Mount Dora Police and Fire Department to discover and explore the life of a police officer and fireman. Mount Dora Christian Academy thanks all volunteers and groups involved in making this camp possible!
