Diana Grubbs Receives Special Toys for Tots Award

Mount Dora, FL – Mount Dora Christian Academy Presented English Teacher and National Beta Sponsor Diana Grubbs with an award from The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Each year Diana Grubbs dedicates much of her time promoting and collecting items for Toys for Tots. Toys for Tots benefits over 12,500 children who are not able to receive Christmas gifts each year. This year 49,000 toys were donated to the cause nationwide. Mount Dora Christian Academy President Dr. James Moore presented to the Commander’s Award plaque to Mrs. Grubbs for outstanding service that read, “Your generous contributions have enabled the Marine Corps to bring the joy of Christmas and send a message of hope to America for less fortunate children.”

After receiving the award, Grubbs responded to the recognition, “I am just the organizer of this,” begins Grubbs.  “You all (the students and families) bring in the toys. You sacrifice a little bit, you sacrifice your time, you sacrifice your effort and you go that extra mile to bring toys in for these children. I know some of the children who received toys this year, and I know they don’t get much and they really look forward to this. So thank you for all you do to make this a successful effort.”
