Spiritual Life

At MDCA, spiritual formation is at the heart of everything we do. Our mission is to educate, equip, and empower faith-driven world changers in a Christ-centered, loving community—and that mission comes to life daily through Bible instruction, worship, and service.
Daily Bible Classes & Chapel
Every student participates in daily Bible classes that challenge them to grow in knowledge, character, and faith. Each school day also includes chapel, where our MDCA family gathers for a cappella worship, scripture reading, and messages that encourage students to live out their faith. In keeping with our heritage in the Churches of Christ, chapel features male leadership, while prayer, scripture reading, and speaking opportunities throughout the week include both male and female voices.
While MDCA is affiliated with the Churches of Christ, our student body reflects a variety of Christian traditions. We value those partnerships and work together with families and local congregations to point students toward Jesus in every aspect of life.
Leadership in Faith
We are excited to welcome Mr. Sean Algaier, our first full-time Campus Minister and Vice President for Spiritual Life. Sean is a gifted speaker, worship leader, and encourager whose role is to help every student draw closer to Jesus, no matter where they are in their spiritual journey.
Our campus spiritual life theme for 2025 is STEP, inspired by Galatians 5:25: “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” This theme challenges students to take intentional steps of faith each day—whether in academics, friendships, service, or personal growth—walking in alignment with God’s Spirit and trusting Him to lead the way.
Beyond the Classroom
Spiritual growth extends far beyond daily worship. Students have opportunities to live out their faith through:
-
Service projects throughout the year, both locally and globally.
-
Wednesday night devotionals, offering an extra time of community and worship.
-
Special events that encourage deeper connection with God and with each other.
