Mount Dora Christian Academy's visual arts program teaches our young artists to collaborate with peers, and express themselves through multiple mediums. Our students quickly develop problem-solving skills and learn to take ownership in their work.
At the secondary level, MDCA art students are offered a Studio Art education. That means that we spend most of our class time actively creating art. Students will have a chance to try a variety of 2-D and 3-D art media, including but not limited to drawing, painting, printmaking, paper mache, textile arts, and clay. High school students who take the introductory art course have the opportunity to take additional art classes where they can hone in on more specific art media.
Mrs. Maegan Benton: Secondary Art Teacher
"I love to see students work through the creative process, figuring out what works and what needs to be revised. It is such a blessing to see each student grow as an artist and a thinker."
