Mount Dora Christian Academy's visual arts program teaches our young artists to collaborate with peers, and express themselves through multiple mediums. Our students quickly develop problem-solving skills and learn to take ownership in their work.

Elementary School

Our Visual Art curriculum foundation comes from the Florida State Standards and the National Art Standards. We teach our students that God’s truths are the foundation to the curriculum objectiveness.

The elements of art and principles of design are the scaffolding of the lessons and projects that are produced in class.

Secondary School

At the secondary level, MDCA art students are offered a Studio Art education. That means that we spend most of our class time actively creating art. Students will have a chance to try a variety of 2-D and 3-D art media, including but not limited to drawing, painting, printmaking, paper mache, textile arts, and clay. High school students who take the introductory art course have the opportunity to take additional art classes where they can hone in on more specific art media.
