MDCA offers students a wide range of courses and extracurricular activities designed to broaden and enhance their educational experience and artistic talents.
In a time where many public schools are curtailing or eliminating arts education, at MDCA we are proud of our growing fine arts program and the direction it is taking. Students are learning so much more than craftsmanship, performance and technique—they are learning to make connections between themselves and their world that go beyond the classroom—connections that inspire their awareness and inform their understanding of their place in God’s beautiful creation and eternal plan.
“I took darkroom photography with Ms. Langgood my senior year, the first year it was offered at CH&BS. The class really opened my eyes to photography as not only an art form, but also a potential career. After high school I went on to get my bachelor’s degree from UCF at the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies, graduating in 2009. I knew that I always wanted to have a career in art, but Ms. Lanngood’s class showed me the exact path I wanted to take.”
