The best time to visit MDCA is while school is in session and the campus is alive with activity, but we are glad to schedule a campus visit anytime during the year. Students are welcome to join parents. We offer personalized weekday tours by appointment. Feel free to schedule a tour here.

Online applications are typically available the first week of October for the following school year. While MDCA does offer rolling admissions (we are able to accept qualified candidates throughout the year provided seats are available), getting a head start on your application will ensure the process goes as smoothly as possible.

Yes, we offer a student-shadowing program for students in grades K-12. We encourage qualified applicants to schedule a shadow day with our Office of Enrollment Management. You can email admissions@mdcacademy.org or call 352-720-0355 to schedule a time .

Yes, before-school supervision (K-5) and after-school care are available (K-8) for students. At Mount Dora Christian Academy we are committed to providing quality enrichment in a safe, Christ-centered environment. Daily activities include snack time, homework period, peer-tutoring, organized/ supervised play, and theme-centered activities.

Extended Care also offers Enrichment Clubs after school on campus! You do not have to be enrolled in extended care to sign up for an enrichment club. 

Enrichment gives children opportunities to try new and varied activities that may not strictly fit into the curriculum, but that develop character, resilience, and motivation, and encourage them to pursue wider goals. These activities allow students to design, create, and learn without limits.  

Early Day K-5:

7-7:45 a.m.

School times vary according to school level:

Applicants should demonstrate evidence of success in a traditional classroom setting, proficiency in reading and math on standardized testing, and have a minimum of a 2.3 unweighted GPA. Other factors include acceptable conduct and attendance record as well as character and morals consistent with MDCA’s mission: 

In addition, we require an official campus visit, online application, completed recommendation forms, school transcript, and standardized test results. The steps and deadlines involved in our application process are outlined in the Apply Now section of Admission. Our Office of Enrollment Management will be available to assist you throughout the process.

Student employment, academic merit scholarships, and athletic scholarships are not offered.

Mount Dora Christian Academy seeks to provide financial aid to those students in grades K-12 whose family can provide documentation of need. Prospective families may apply through FACTS Grant & Aid. MDCA does accept the School Choice Scholarships through Step Up for Students and AAA Scholarship Foundation. MDCA will provide each student with a school-owned Chromebook for use during the school year – at no extra cost.  

Having all students utilize the same type of device will serve two purposes: to help streamline the various programs and platforms we use and simplify troubleshooting.
