MDCA's Peer Helper Program, now in its second year, has taken on a new group of students in 4th and 5th grade, and has expanded into a year long class for all sixth graders.  Peer Helpers offer their fellow students encouragement and assistance with day-to-day challenges.  Peer Helpers are students who are trained to recognize when their peers may have a problem, listen to fellow students confidentially and assist them with emotional, societal, or academic struggles.  In the process of helping others improve their self esteem, Peer Helpers themselves become leaders and role models.  

Bulldog Buddies is a program that was created by the MDCA Student Association to connect our students across grade levels.  Students are split into small groups that stay together all year long.  The idea is for our older students to develop leadership skills and to be a resource and encouragement to our younger students.  Bulldog Buddies meets every other week during chapel on Wednesday and each group is assigned to one of our teachers who facilitates their time together.  The discussion prompts and activities are created by members of our Student Association.       

The drama program at Mount Dora Christian Academy has enjoyed a long and rich tradition in the community of Mount Dora. The crew for all shows is entirely student-run.

A variety of athletics teams are offered for students beginning in 6th grade. Our experienced coaches not only teach our athletes the fundamentals of their sport, but they also encourage teamwork and time management skills to ensure students are maintaining their grades and managing their classwork. MDCA coaches build stronger relationships with their student-athletes by encouraging students to study the Bible as a team.
