Implementing a Christian-based College Preparatory Curriculum

Mount Dora Christian Academy strives to be a leader in the pursuit of academic excellence.

We know how important a college education is in today’s world, and how competitive admission can be to top universities. That is why we take academic excellence so seriously. We constantly strive to improve our curriculum, our teaching process, and to better understand the needs of today’s students. All MDCA teachers hold college degrees (with more than half holding a master’s degree or higher) and are certified in their subject area. They are Christ-like role models who love and encourage their students to succeed.

Academic success isn’t left to chance but is based on solid research. This includes research by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, student surveys, parent surveys, and the NSSE Survey of Instructional and Organizational Effectiveness. Armed with this knowledge, MDCA teachers implement and align curriculum through teaching strategies, learning activities, instructional support, resources, and assessments shared by our common vision.

Actively engaging students in learning is Mount Dora Christian Academy’s overall strongest instructional area. This includes academic field trips, guest speakers, tutoring, technology, and media assistance.

Our students’ success is the best indicator of MDCA’s academic strength. Our students score well on assessment and standardized tests, and 95% of our recent graduates have been admitted to colleges and universities.
