Every student learns differently. The Wishart Academic Success Center (ASC) provides MDCA students with strategies, resources, and individualized academic support to strengthen skills, build effective learning habits, and work toward their academic goals.

Building Skills for Today & Tomorrow
The Wishart Academic Success Center serves students across the MDCA community, providing resources that complement classroom instruction and respond to individual academic needs.
The goal extends beyond helping a student with a particular assignment or test. ASC staff help students develop strategies they can continue to use throughout their education, including effective study habits, time management, organization, goal setting, and approaches to learning.
Academic Success Center staff connect students with academic coaches, success coaches, and peer-learning opportunities that provide encouragement, accountability, and new ways to approach learning.
More Than Tutoring
Academic success isn't only about understanding the material in a particular class. Students also need the skills and strategies to manage their responsibilities, approach challenges, and become increasingly independent learners.
The Wishart Academic Success Center offers a variety of services designed to meet students where they are and help them move forward.
Academic Coaching
Individualized guidance helps students strengthen learning strategies, organization, time management, goal setting, and academic habits.
Peer Tutoring
Students can work with trained peer tutors who reinforce course concepts, help clarify challenging material, and provide another perspective on learning.
Study Sessions & Exam Prep
Individual and group study opportunities help students review course material, prepare for assessments, and strengthen understanding.
Success Mentoring
Mentoring provides encouragement, accountability, and practical strategies as students work toward personal and academic goals.
Supplemental Instruction
Additional learning opportunities reinforce classroom concepts and give students another way to engage with challenging material.
Success Strategy Workshops
Workshops focus on practical skills such as studying effectively, managing time, staying organized, preparing for tests, and setting academic goals.

Students Helping Students
Peer tutoring is an important part of the Academic Success Center. Students have opportunities to learn from and alongside other students, strengthening understanding through collaboration while building a community centered on growth and encouragement.
