Title: Bible Teacher & Department Head
Degree: Bachelor of Science in Mathematics
About: Mr. Hubbard is originally from North Alabama and has been a Christian since 2002. He and his wife, Jennifer, were married in 2005 and have three children - Jacob, Haley, and Hannah. Mr. Hubbard earned a B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Biblical Studies from Faulkner University and has been teaching since 2005. The Hubbards moved to Central Florida in 2017, where Mr. Hubbard has been teaching at Mount Dora Christian Academy. He is currently serving as the Bible Department chair at MDCA and Deacon of Youth at Orange Ave. Church of Christ.
What year did you start working at MDCA? 2017
Why do you love working at MDCA? I love the fact that I get to express my faith and be a teacher at the same time.
Title: Registrar
Degree: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
About: Mrs. Bay has been married to her husband, Jeff, for 43 years. She is the mother of three daughters, Sarah, Katie, and Kristen, all MDCA graduates and Harding University graduates. Sarah has a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology. Katie is a Physical Therapist at Sands Hospital in Gainesville. Kristen is a Registered Nurse at the Advent Health Waterman Cancer Center. Mrs. Bay has one grandson who is four years old, and another one on the way in November.
What year did you start working at MDCA? I started working at the school in 1999 as a guest teacher. I have held various jobs through the years and began full-time in 2007.
Why do you love working at MDCA? I love working with the students!
Why did you want to work in education? It always allowed me to be close to my children when they were in school.
Title: Secondary Art Teacher
Degree: Bachelor of Science in Art Education from Florida State University
Background: Mrs. Benton has been teaching art since 2007. She has taught in public, private, and virtual classroom settings. Mrs. Benton taught art at all three primary school levels (elementary, middle, and high). In addition to teaching traditional studio art courses, she has also taught AP Art History and AVID.
