Mount Dora Christian Academy is a private, Christ-centered school serving more than 920 students in preschool through 12th grade in Mount Dora, Florida. Founded in 1945, MDCA provides students throughout Lake County and Central Florida with a college-preparatory education enriched by athletics, fine arts, spiritual development, and service opportunities.

Following a nationwide search, Mount Dora Christian Academy has selected Dr. Laws Rushing II as its next Head of School.
Once a Bulldog himself, Rushing attended MDCA during his high school years and returns to campus having built a distinguished career in Christian education, ministry, and nonprofit leadership.

Dr. Tony Kinkel, Vice President of Development at Mount Dora Christian Academy & Children’s Home, will be transitioning from his current role after accepting a position as Senior Vice President of Enterprise Relations at NorthWest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville, Arkansas. Following Kinkel’s departure on April 18, Keith O’Neal will assume the role of Vice President of Development while continuing to serve as Head of School until that position is filled.

Mount Dora Christian Academy is proud to announce that its Elementary School has been officially recognized as a 2025 National Blue Ribbon School, one of only 55 private schools nationwide and just three in Florida to earn this distinction.
